Community led adaptation in East Bale Zone, Dawe Kachen Woreda

the resilience of rural to the impacts of climate change by enhancing income generation from sustainable means.
In order to achieve this objective, community led adaptation is maintained through inclusive participation.
The 27th General Assembly of AFD was held on 25 March 2023.

AFD has signed a project agreement with Welthungerhilfe (WHH) for the implementation of a humanitarian project in four districts of the Borana Zone, at a cost of EURO 457,198.00. The project will go some way in addressing the adverse consequences of the prolonged drought that has struck the area. We are grateful to WHH for enabling us to meaningfully respond to the prevailing humanitarian crisis. Needless to mention that more needs to be done to alleviate the unfolding human suffering.

With the intervention made by AFD in partnership with Christian aid, currently, the communities under Afnet Wacha Kebele of Semen Ari Woreda got potable water, saving them from many inconveniences like drudgery, wastage of time, being delayed from school, and many more.

Written by Action for Development (AFD)AFD signed an agreement with Save the Children International for the implementation of a project entitled "BALE EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROJECT", which will be implemented in the Lega Hidha and Rayitu woredas of the East Bale zone, at a cost of Birr 6,595,777.00 .

The project, which is aimed at saving the lives and livelihoods of the target communities will be implemented over a period of one year with a budget of Birr 30,000,000.00 .
