Today, June 17, is the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought.
At Action For Development (AFD), our core mission in Natural Resource
Management drives our efforts to foster the sustainable utilization and
equitable governance of natural resources. We are actively combating
desertification, drought, and related hazards through the following key
initiatives:
• Improved conservation and management of natural resources
• Regeneration and restoration of degraded ecosystems
• Support for clean and renewable energy
• Support for community engagement in natural resource governance
AFD firmly believes in and reaffirms its unwavering commitment to sustainable
natural resource management. This commitment is vital to protect pastoral and
agro-pastoral communities from the devastating impacts of desertification and
drought.
ዛሬ ሰኔ 10፣ በአለም አቀፍ ደረጃ በረሃማነትንና ድርቅን ለመዋጋት የሚከበርበት ቀን ነው።
የተፈጥሮ ሃብት ጥበቃ ዋና ተልዕኮዉ የሆነዉ አክሽን ፎር ዴቨሎፕመንት የተፈጥሮ ሃብቶችን
ቀጣይነት ባለዉ መልኩ ጥቅም ላይ በማዋል፤ ድርቅን እና ተያያዥ አደጋዎችን ለመከላከል
የሚከተሉትን ተግባራት በማከናወን ላይ ይገኛል፡-
• የተፈጥሮ ሃብቶችን ጥበቃ ስራ ማሻሻል
• የተራቆቱ ስነ-ምህዳሮችን እንዲያገግሙ መስራት፡
• ታዳሽ ኃይልን ምንጭን ጥቅም ላይ ማዋል
• ማህበረሰቡ በተፈጥሮ ሃብት ጥበቃ ውስጥ ንቁ
ተሳትፎ እንዲያደርግ መደገፍ ናቸዉ፡፡
ኤኤፍዲ የተፈጥሮ ሃብትን በዘላቂነት መጠበቅ አርብቶ አደሩንና ከፊል አርብቶ አደሩን
ማህበረሰብ ከበረሃማነት፣ ከድርቅና ከአስከፊ ተጽእኖዉ ለመጠበቅ ወሳኝ በመሆኑ ተግባሩን
እንደሚያጠናክር ያለዉን ቁርጠኝነት ያረጋግጣል።
