Action For Development (AFD) and its partner, Plan International Ethiopia (PIE), have joined hands to combat
severe malnutrition in the Goro Dola Woreda of the East Borana Zone, in Oromia Region.

The project, funded by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), will address the high
rates of malnutrition in the area through a multi-sectoral approach that will integrate four key areas to create
a comprehensive strategy: Nutrition, Health, WASH, and Agriculture.

This collaborative project is expected to significantly reduce malnutrition rates and improve the health and
well-being of the community in Goro Dola Woreda. AFD is in the process of opening a new field coordination
office to be based in Negele town, for the facilitation of the project.
